Your Initial Consultation

What to Expect From Your Consultation?

During your in-person consultation, the surgeon will ask about your current health and the specific outcomes you wish to achieve. Be prepared to discuss your medications, allergies, and any previous medical treatments. The consultation involves a thorough evaluation of the area related to your procedure, taking into account your overall body proportions and aesthetic goals. Your surgeon will focus on understanding your vision and how to deliver natural-looking results that align with your expectations.

After the assessment, the best options for your procedure will be determined based on your medical history and physical examination. Confidential photographs of the treatment area may be taken for surgical planning and to monitor your results post-procedure, with complete confidentiality maintained by your surgeon and staff.

You will also receive detailed information on the recovery process, along with any potential risks or complications. Feel free to ask any questions you may have during this discussion.

In follow-up consultations, your surgical options will be further explored, with a focus on any specific considerations related to your case.

Deeper Patient Information FAQ
for Delta Clinics

Consultation & Costs

An in-person consultation requires a £100 deposit. It is a comprehensive, not rushed consultation (45 minutes), where you will have a discussion of your goals, medical history and suitability for surgery.

Your first visit includes a full health assessment, a discussion of your aesthetic goals, and clinical photographs to support surgical planning. Mr Alfie or another consultant surgeon will explain which procedure options are suitable and answer any questions before you decide whether to proceed.

Surgery costs are itemised to cover the surgeon’s fee, anaesthetist’s fee and theatre/facility fees, and vary by procedure and complexity. You’ll receive a detailed, itemised quote at your consultation once your surgeon has assessed exactly what your procedure will involve. In the meantime, you can check Delta Clinics pricing page to see starting prices.

Yes, Delta Clinics offers 0% and low-interest financing through Chrysalis Finance, with monthly payment plans available for most procedures. Your patient coordinator can talk you through the available plans once you have a confirmed quote.

Preparing for Surgery

Preparing for surgery involves following pre-operative guidance on medication, fasting and lifestyle adjustments provided by your surgical team. This typically includes stopping certain medications and supplements, avoiding smoking, and following fasting instructions specific to your anaesthetic type.

Yes, you’ll need a companion to accompany you home after surgery and to stay with you for the first 24 hours, since you won’t be able to drive or care for yourself safely while recovering from anaesthesia. This is a standard safety requirement across UK surgical clinics.

Before surgery, prepare a comfortable recovery space with easy access to a bathroom, loose comfortable clothing, and any prescribed supplies such as compression garments or dressings ready in advance. Having meals prepared or easily accessible in the days beforehand also makes early recovery easier.

Fasting instructions depend on your anaesthetic type and will be confirmed by your anaesthetist ahead of surgery, but general anaesthetic typically requires fasting from food for 6 hours and clear fluids for 2 hours beforehand. Always follow the specific instructions given by your clinical team rather than general guidance, as these can vary.

Recovery & Aftercare

Delta Clinics’ aftercare includes 24/7 access to a designated nurse, plus five to six complimentary follow-up consultations as part of your care plan. This ensures continuous support throughout your recovery, not just in the days immediately after surgery.

Recovery length varies by procedure, a mini tummy tuck typically allows a return to light activity within 1–2 weeks, while a full or extended tummy tuck usually needs 2–3 weeks. Your surgeon will give you a personalised recovery timeline based on your specific procedure at your consultation.

Initial results become visible once swelling subsides, usually within the first few weeks, though final results continue to develop over several months as remaining swelling resolves and scars mature. Most patients see their full result by 6–12 months after surgery.

Yes, follow-up appointments are built into every patient’s care plan at key recovery milestones, typically in the days, weeks and months following surgery. These are included at no extra cost as part of Delta Clinics’ Inclusive Care Plan.

Safety & Risk

Delta Clinics is CQC-registered, and all surgeons performing procedures are registered with the General Medical Council. Safety is supported by thorough pre-operative health assessments and an anaesthetic team experienced specifically in cosmetic surgery.

All surgery carries risks, and these are discussed fully and specifically to your procedure and health profile during your consultation, rather than presented as a generic list. Common considerations include infection, scarring and anaesthetic risk, each of which your surgeon will explain in the context of your individual case.

Anaesthesia at Delta Clinics is administered by a consultant anaesthetist with a vast experience. All Delta Clinics anaesthetists have specialist expertise in TIVA (total intravenous anaesthesia) techniques for cosmetic surgery. Their experience is specifically suited to the type of anaesthesia used in aesthetic procedures.

If you have any concern after surgery, Delta Clinics’ aftercare nurse is reachable 24/7 for the first few days after the surgery. Support is available at any time, not just during clinic hours. You’re also encouraged to attend your scheduled follow-up appointments so your surgical team can monitor your recovery in person.
