Are hooded eyelids the same as droopy eyelids?
No. Hooded eyelids usually refer to excess skin folding over the upper-eyelid crease, while a droopy eyelid can mean that the eyelid margin itself sits lower than normal, which is known as ptosis. A low brow can also create a hooded appearance, so the skin, eyelid and brow positions must be assessed before treatment is recommended.
Can hooded eyelids be treated without surgery?
Non-surgical treatment can produce a limited change in brow position for carefully selected patients, but it cannot remove excess upper-eyelid skin. Established hooding due to redundant skin requires surgical correction for a direct, lasting result.
Is a brow lift or an eyelid lift better for hooded eyelids?
